New Words

I learned some new words yesterday and today, I feel so proud.
lugubrious - sad or gloomy in an exaggerated way
misogynist - one who hates women
prodigious - extraordinary in size, amount, extent...
And I picked up a new word for scrabble: xeric - of, pertaining to, or adapted to a dry environment.

how exactly did you 'pick up' those words and do you actually know what they mean?
Misogynist is pretty negative isn't it?

The first two I read in a book, the third came from a conversation and I can't remember where I saw the last one, I just thought that it was a good one to remember for scrabble. And yes I know what they mean, I looked them up.

there's a book I'm thinking of buying you along these lines...
I'll have to look into that!
